Batter's Box Baseball Recruiting Process

Batter's Box Baseball has one goal in mind; to get all of our athletes to college academically and/or athletically. For those that wish to pursue their love of baseball at the collegiate level, follow the advice below. The recruiting process can be very stressful for all parties involved. Below is a simplified process to help our players and families break into the recruiting process.

1) Make sure you are registered in the NCAA Clearinghouse. Schools cannot speak to you until this is complete. The cost should be around $70-$100. You should complete this before your junior year. Follow the link below to register:

Eligibilitycenter.org

2) Make a short video of yourself and upload it to You Tube (the simplest method). The video should be of practice and game footage only. Make sure to contain video of you hitting, playing defense, and a short bullpen if you pitch. Make the videos brief or coaches will not watch them.

3) Use the “Coaches Contact” list to identify possible programs you would be interested in playing at. It’s recommended to contact 10 programs that are a fit for your educational desires and that are at the appropriate level for your level of baseball play. Then narrow those down to your top 5 programs and apply. Note: feel free to ask your coach for what college level program they think would be a good fit for you.

4) After you have narrowed your selection down to 5 schools, use an “Introductory Letter” to email the coaches of those schools. If you have made a video, attach the video or the You Tube link to your email. In those emails make sure to let the coach know that you are interested in there program and see if they have interest in you. Make sure that you let the coaches know that you have registered with in the NCAA Clearinghouse, provide your G.P.A. and any ACT or SAT scores if applicable.

Parents- Please understand that a majority of colleges do not offer FULL RIDE SCHOLARSHIPS. Make sure you research and apply for any federal or state grants that you may qualify for. There are tons of grant options out there to subsidize the partial athletic scholarship that your son may receive. Click the links below to learn more about FAFSA and student aid:
